When pupils are too shy to learn BBC News
No parent wants their child to be the one left out in the playground - waiting on the sidelines for an invite to join in.
But many may not realise that being very shy can also mean they miss out on learning too.

As part of its Aspire & Inspire programme, the National Education Trust is pleased to announce the national launch of
Local Authorities and schools interested in being involved in this national work from September should contact the Director.
6s&7s is an early intervention programme based in primary schools, aimed at six and seven year-olds. It is designed both:
to improve the language and social skills, confidence and emotional well-being of young children
to assess which children require further support with social and emotional well-being.
The project is being launched nationally from September 2008, based on previous and current pilot work in Birmingham supported by the Heart of Birmingham Primary Care Trust. Heart of Birmingham schools interested
