The National Education Trust is an independent charitable foundation dedicated to the promotion and sharing of excellent practice and innovation in education. |
Welcome to the National Education Trust website. This site will tell you about our work, how we can help you, and how you can get involved in our work.
The Trust was created in 2006. We are the UK’s leading education think and do tank. We harness our extensive national and international experience to bring about improvements for learners, from early years onwards. We assist education leaders and practitioners in sustaining success and tackling underperformance. We believe in:
The Trust’s approach to achieving its aims is rooted in four key strands. NATIONAL RESOURCE: Developing a national resource of excellent practice and powerful initiatives in early years’ settings, schools and colleges. Our seminar programme and advocacy centres promote and share best practice and provide innovative solutions to many of the challenges facing our education system. INDEPENDENT SERVICES: Leading high quality school, college and setting reviews to provide excellent school development. We offer innovative, personalised training for headteachers, teachers and governors which has a proven track record of supporting sustainable, values driven improvement. ASPIRE & INSPIRE: 'chartermarked' projects for children and young people which inspire and help them to learn. The projects are evidence based and underpinned by professional development for practitioners and leaders. POLICY & RESEARCH: Influencing stakeholders and policy-makers to shape educational provision, locally and nationally. We encourage debate by providing a platform for, and contributing to critical study of the key issues in education today and tomorrow. We do this through our events programme, our website and our Counterblasts series. The National Education Trust community supports all our work. This community includes our Leading Thinkers (influential figures drawn from the complete spectrum of education), Associates, Partners, and school / education leaders with a commitment to positive change in education. Outcomes Our work influences national policy and practice. We have worked with other major education organisations, several thousand school leaders and classroom practitioners across our aspire and inspire, national resource and independent services strands. The National Education Trust continues to bring people together, shares what works, provides sustainable improvement for education leaders, and ensures better outcomes for all learners. We recently started work on a longitudinal evaluation of our work with Bath Spa University. We will report progress on this website. Click here to read about what others say about our work. If you have any questions about the work of the Trust, or you would like to get involved, then please do not hesitate to contact me. Roy Blatchford Founding Director |
