In his original and persuasive book Blink, Malcolm Gladwell explores 'the power of the glance'. His argument goes that we can, if we develop the right instincts and abilities, very quickly make good judgements about what is happening in the world around us.
As HMI with extensive experience in school improvement, Roy Blatchford led the development of Ofsted's one-day inspections of primary and secondary schools.
With colleagues, he developed a 'blink' model, getting to the heart of what makes a good school by asking key questions and following key trails with headteachers, teachers, pupils and governors.
If you would like one of NET's trained Associates, to conduct a one-day BLINK in your school, covering any aspects of the school's provision, please contact office@nationaleducationtrust.net. A strong professional development theme for headteachers and staff is at the heart of this activity.
Roy Blatchford is also available to work with senior teams on sustaining success, and talk to seminars and conferences on this developing national work.
