The debate takes place in Islington on Thursday 9 February and is being organised by the National Education Trust, the leading education charity. It will be led by Melissa Benn, author of 'School Wars', with responses from Sally Coates, Principal of Burlington Danes Academy and Roy Blatchford, Founding Director of the National Education Trust. The National Education Trust warmly welcomes the appointment of the new chief inspector of schools in England. Roy Blatchford, Director of the Trust said 'There has been a lack of political ambition for many years to ensure that every school in this country is a good school. Sir Michael knows how to create a very good school as a headteacher. The National Education Trust looks forward to working with Ofsted to ensure that thousands of children in primary and secondary schools across the country no longer languish in grindingly satisfactory classrooms.
