To maximise NET's impact during its first five years, the Trust is focused on four key strands of activity.
- National Resource: Developing a national resource of excellent practice and powerful initiatives in early years' settings, schools and colleges
- Independent Services: Leading high quality school reviews. Providing innovative, personalised training for headteachers, teachers and governors
- Aspire & Inspire: Running 'chartermarked' projects for children and young people
- Policy & Research: Influencing stakeholders and policy-makers to shape educational policy, locally, regionally and nationally.
NET
- takes a long-term outlook
- is independent, innovative and bold
- is prepared to challenge orthodoxies, and to respond to evolving policies and practices
- is intellectually rigorous
- forges alliances with key partners in education, at a local, national and international level
- celebrates and shares the work of practitioners
- works across all stages of education and together with the private, public, faith and non-profit sectors
- is a third sector provider of education and services to children and young people.
NET seeks to establish a national role in the field of education comparable to The King's Fund's position in national health (www.kingsfund.org.uk).
