I, along with two colleagues, attended the conference ' Learning, What Matters to Children' and was inspired and refreshed that at last educators from all backgrounds were discussing how to make learning real to children. We are already working on a more creative, connected curriculum and came back with lots more ideas from the conference and the book. I have bought a copy for all my staff and it is wonderful to witness how excited they are about using these ideas in our curriculum. This gives me great optimism about the rich quality of learning the children in my school will receive. I am equally sure that children learning for real will be successful in their learning for life whatever 'measures' or 'targets' they are asked to achieve. Believe it or not this is something the QCA want us to do so let more of us take up the challenge and make learning real, exciting and challenging for our children. Read the book, it's an inspiration.

',What Matters to Children' should be compulsory reading for any educator, parent or grandparent. If this happened the quality of children's lives would be significantly improved.

I attended the "Learning, What Matters to Children" Conference with two colleagues from school and have returned inspired to begin an overhaul of our curriculum opportunities and learning environment. We can certainly recommend this book to anyone responsible for Primary Education.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone in primary education. As a result of the "What matters to children conference" we are currently reviewing our curriculum in order to give more time for children to enjoy a high quality, creative curriculum and learning that matters to them.

Thank you for your article, I enjoyed it immensely. The issues you raise are so important for all of us. 'What Matters to Children' is an inspirational book and deserves the widest possible recognition. Our children deserve the best and this book helps us to remember what quality looks and feels like.
